Privacy
What this site does with your dataIn short: no tracking cookies, no tracking across sites, no advertising. The site keeps nothing about you unless you write to us, sign up for the newsletter or use a download access code. Everything below is the long version, as the GDPR requires.

Hosting and server logs
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) through its global network, including servers in the EU. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the technical data your browser sends – IP address, time, page requested, browser type – to deliver the page and to protect the site against attacks. This is necessary for the operation of the site (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and offers a data processing agreement with EU standard contractual clauses. We do not keep server logs ourselves.
Fonts, images, audio
All typefaces, images and music are delivered from this site's own hosting. Nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or other third-party servers when you read a page.
Trailers (YouTube)
Some film pages offer a trailer. It is not loaded until you press play. When you do, the video is loaded from YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) in its privacy-enhanced mode, and Google receives your IP address and may set cookies on its own domain. Pressing play is your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR); if you do not press it, nothing is transferred to Google.
Statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit which pages. It works without cookies and without a persistent identifier, and does not follow you to other sites; the data is aggregated and cannot be traced to you (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR – our interest in knowing whether the site works).
Email and the message form
If you write to us by email or through the message form, we use your name, address and message to answer you (Art. 6 (1) b GDPR, or f for other enquiries). Messages sent through the form are forwarded as an email by our email provider, Resend, Inc. (USA; data processing agreement with EU standard contractual clauses). We keep correspondence as long as the conversation or a resulting collaboration requires, and as long as commercial law obliges us to keep business correspondence.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address and send you a confirmation email; the subscription starts only when you confirm it (double opt-in), and we record the time of your confirmation as proof. We use the address solely to send the newsletter – a few times a year – until you unsubscribe, which you can do through the link in every mail or by writing to us (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). Sending and storage are handled by Kit (ConvertKit LLC, 600 1st Ave, Ste 330, Seattle, WA 98104, USA) under a data processing agreement with EU standard contractual clauses; Kit is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Kit records when and from which page you subscribed and whether you opened a mail; no tracking cookies are set on this site.
Player settings
The music player remembers your volume setting in your own browser (local storage). This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Download access codes
Music supervisors and editors can ask for a personal access code to download licensable cues. When you enter it on the Play page, the code is kept in a cookie (dlcode) for 30 days so you do not have to enter it again; this cookie is strictly necessary for the function you asked for and needs no consent (§ 25 (2) TDDDG). We record which cues were downloaded with which code and when (Art. 6 (1) b and f GDPR – fulfilling your request and protecting the recordings); the log is kept for one year. You can end the session on the Play page at any time ("close"), which removes the cookie.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable form, and object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; for us that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
